The main objective of Shine's Saving Lives Race is to enable our Health Advisers in the field to support the 12,000 members that we have affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and assist in addressing the issues that these conditions can bring.  

Raising the funds required to ensure that children living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus have a fulfilling and inclusive educational experience...

To raise the funds needed to ensure our members have the correct equipment to lead a fulfilling life.

Supporting those caring for loved ones affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus

A balloon race organised to raise the funds necessary to provide support to our members of all ages fitted with a shunt to regulate the condition, hydrocephalus.

For my birthday this year, I'd like to raise funds for Shine while having some fun with an online balloon race!

Spina bifida/hydrocephalus within a baby is diagnosed when the prospective mother attends a routine ultrasound scan. When this occurs the NHS passes Shine’s details onto the parents, giving them the opportunity to contact our trained staff, who can help with both practical and emotional support.
