Who is Shine?

Shine (formerly ASBAH) was formed in 1966 to support those affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. We rely heavily on the generous support of individuals and businesses in order to achieve our goals on a daily basis.

What do we do?

Your support enables Shine to continue providing our unique vital services which include a Life Long Opportunities Programme (LLOP) - a tailored, age-related calendar of events including Family Opportunities Weekends, Teen Residentials, Independent Living Workshops, and Shine40Plus events for our adult Members.

A dedicated team of Support and Development Workers connect with Members throughout England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to address health or emotional concerns, as well as practical matters.
