About this race:
Our expert team identify and contact our most at-risk members to ensure that they have all the support they need. The team are working directly with government agencies and other services to ensure that our vulnerable members have priority access to food, medication and other essentials.
Many of our members are experiencing high levels of anxiety, fear and isolation during these challenging times. The Health Development Team offer weekly online sessions to provide wellbeing and peer support to those who are struggling. They also supply weekly updates on keeping safe and well, clarifying government guidelines for members who may be confused and uncertain as to whether they should still shield.
Shine is almost entirely funded by the generosity of businesses and the general public. Our balloon races make a significant contribution to our funds every year. By sponsoring a balloon you will be helping us to continue to provide the vital services our members urgently need.
The balloon race is being launched from Clarence house on the 4th August. Clarence house was home to HRH The Queen Mother who was born on 4th August 1900 and lived here in later years.
